Regional Programs & Alliances
We convene public, private, and nonprofit stakeholders to design and implement food system programs and cross-sector alliances that strengthen local food systems and expand their capacity to distribute food to communities in need.

What We Do
- Connect Stakeholders Across the Regional Food System
We bring together multi-sector stakeholders to address complex food system challenges with coordinated and scalable solutions. - Strengthen Regional Capacity and Coordination
Through system-wide planning and coordination, we identify gaps and implement solutions to expand the region’s ability to recover and distribute food. - Develop Scalable Regional Models
Our program utilizes repeatable frameworks that can be adapted to strengthen food systems in different regions.
- Align Regional Resources
We coordinate funding, infrastructure, data, and operations across stakeholders to deploy resources efficiently and where they are most needed. - Reduce Fragmentation
We create the structure needed to streamline efforts and improve communication, logistics, and decision making across the food system.
Add-On Services
We offer the following add-on services to support our Regional Programs and Alliances.
Grant Management
& Administration
We develop and administrate regional grant programs to maximize collaboration and optimize use of funds.
Grant Management & Administration
We design and manage grant programs to optimize the use of funds by maximizing collaboration and resource utilization across the food system.
- Better Resource Utilization
We bring together multi-sector stakeholders to address complex food system challenges with coordinated and scalable solutions. - Grants Application Support
We help nonprofits to structure grant proposals that have attainable outcomes and meet application requirements. - Collaborative Funding Programs
Our grant programs encourage partnerships and coordinated action across nonprofit and food system stakeholders. - Improved Accountability and Reporting
We build grant reporting frameworks to help nonprofits track program outcomes and vet the accuracy of the impact reports.
Enhanced
Procurement
Reduce purchase costs by using our nationwide procurement platform. Enrollment is easy!
Enhanced Procurement
- Access to Savings
Members get group purchasing power through a national buying network that secures reduced prices on food, supplies, and equipment. - Reinvest Savings into Programs
Lower operational costs allow nonprofits to redirect more funding toward their mission and programs. - Simplified Procurement
Organizations can take advantage of the program’s simplified procurement process to reduce administrative workload.
Logistics
Coordination
Reduce your operational costs and optimize transportation and delivery.
Logistics Coordination
Food recovery and distribution efforts are often limited by fragmented transportation and disconnected logistics systems. This can lead to inefficient routes, underutilized resources, higher operational costs, and less food reaching communities in need.
- Optimize Transportation
Our strengths in logistics coordination lead to improved route efficiency across organizations for food recovery and distribution. - Reduce Operational Costs
Optimized logistics networks allow organizations to distribute more recovered food at lower costs. - Leverage Existing Transportation Resources
We identify and employ underutilized vehicles for greater distribution efficiency.

Repurposing
Kitchens
Maximize the utilization of excess edible food.
Repurposing Kitchens
Large volumes of excess edible food often go underutilized due to limited meal production coordination and infrastructure while leading to more food wasted. We align stakeholders and existing commercial kitchens to produce nutritious, ready-to-eat meals using excess edible food. These meals can be medically tailored and stored up to a year.
- Extend Shelf Life and Availability
Meals can be vacuum-sealed and frozen, allowing them to be stored for up to one year and distributed based on community needs over time. - Turn Excess Edible Food into Ready-to-Eat Meals
We direct excess edible food to repurposing kitchens where it is transformed into prepared meals and meal components for community distribution.. - Vocational Training Opportunities
We direct the creation of structured environments for workforce development by offering hands on training in food preparation, safety, and kitchen operations, helping individuals build skills that support long-term employment. - Use Excess Commercial Kitchen Capacity
We partner with commercial kitchens to produce meals in safe, regulated environments, maintaining high standards for food safety and quality while expanding regional production capacity. - Support Medically Tailored Meal Production
We work with partners, including on-site dieticians, to produce meals that meet specific dietary and health needs, such as low-sodium or diabetic-friendly options.
